Buy Fire Products
When it comes to the safety of the workplace, it’s imperative that a business invests in quality fire products to keep employees and visitors safe.
Fire blankets are safety devices made from specially woven fabric that is fire retardant. They are designed to help extinguish small starting fires. Fire blankets are particularly useful for smothering pan fires or for wrapping around a person whose clothing is on fire.
A fire blanket must be kept close to areas that are at a higher risk of fire, which is why our blankets are packed in slim, easy clean plastic containers that fix to walls easily. The blanket is made from a specially treated glass-fibre material and fitted with two pull-tapes for fast release and positioning to extinguish fires quickly and safely.
Our fire blankets comply to BS EN 1869 standard, which means they have been through rigorous tests to ensure they are completely fire retardant and safe to use.
Fire and Safety Maintenance Log Books
A fire and safety maintenance log book contains professional advice as well as space to record all aspects of your fire safety regime, including fire safety advice, visits by your fire brigade officer, fire alarm systems, fire training and fire drills.
When a log becomes full for any particular section, you can simply reprint the required page and add it into your log book; this way you will always have a complete record of all your fire safety procedures instantly to hand.
Demonstrate your compliance with fire safety legislation with a fire and safety maintenance log book. The Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to ensure the safety of guests whilst on their premises.
Fire and safety books are idea for educational institutes, hotels, offices, shops, leisure premises, residences, factories and all other places where a fire alarm system is installed.
What Is A Fire Blanket Used For?
Fire blankets are used to extinguish fires in the kitchen (cooking oil, saucepans, frying pans, waste bins etc) and clothing fires. Covering a fire with a fire blanket cuts the supply of oxygen to the contents of a pan or a person’s clothing. The blankets are made from a special woven fabric that is fire retardant and is designed to help extinguish small starting fires.
Do Fire Blankets Need Servicing?
If your fire blankets are used in a business environment, they will need to be serviced annually. The service charge for a blanket is about half that of an extinguisher. To service a fire blanket, an engineer will unpack the fire blanket, check that is has no holes or worn areas and then carefully place it back in its box. The box will then be marked with the servicing date.
Where Should You Install A Fire Blanket?
Fire blankets should be installed one or two metres away from the cooker or flammable object so that you can safely reach it in the event of a fire. It’s best to fix it to a sturdy wall and in between the hazard and exit.
